Studio Policy
Welcome to our piano studio. This policy is designed to help students, parents, and the instructor maintain a consistent, respectful, and productive learning environment. By enrolling in lessons, students and parents agree to the following studio policies.
01
Lesson Schedule and Attendance
- Students are expected to attend their weekly lessons consistently and arrive on time.
- Students who are late cannot be guaranteed their full lesson time. Lessons will still end at the originally scheduled time so that the following students are not affected.
- Regular attendance is essential for steady musical progress. Frequent absences or irregular attendance may affect the student's progress and lesson placement.
02
Cancellations and Make-Up Lessons
- To allow enough time for scheduling adjustments, cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson time by email, text message, or through the online scheduling system.
- A make-up lesson credit will be issued when a lesson is canceled at least 24 hours in advance.
- The instructor will make the best effort to schedule a make-up lesson within the next two weeks. If a make-up lesson cannot be arranged within that time, the lesson credit will be applied toward the following month's tuition.
- One student-canceled lesson per month may be eligible for a make-up lesson or lesson credit when proper notice is given. Additional missed lessons within the same month may not be eligible for make-up lessons or lesson credits.
- Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, missed lessons, or no-shows are not eligible for make-up lessons, credits, or refunds, unless otherwise approved by the instructor.
03
Extended Absence
- An extended absence of two or more lessons requires at least one week's advance notice.
- If a student plans to be away for an extended period during summer break, the teacher must be notified at least two weeks in advance.
- Tuition will not be held, prorated, or refunded for extended absences unless arrangements have been approved by the instructor in advance.
04
Instructor Cancellation
- If the instructor needs to cancel a lesson, the instructor will either reschedule the lesson or apply the lesson credit toward the following month.
- Instructor-canceled lessons will not result in a loss of lesson credit for the student.
05
Tuition and Payment
- Tuition is paid monthly in advance and is calculated based on the number of lessons scheduled for the student's assigned lesson day in a given month.
- For example, if the student's assigned lesson day is Tuesday and there are four Tuesdays in that month, the monthly tuition will be four times the student's lesson rate.
- Tuition is due before the first lesson of each month, unless otherwise arranged.
- Late payments may result in a temporary hold on lessons until payment is received.
- Tuition is non-refundable once the month has started, except when a lesson is canceled by the instructor and cannot be rescheduled or credited.
- Student-canceled lessons, late arrivals, missed lessons, and no-shows are not eligible for refunds.
06
Discontinuing Lessons
- If a student wishes to discontinue lessons, at least two weeks' written notice is required.
- The notice period begins from the date written notice is received.
- Tuition for the current month is non-refundable once the month has started.
- Tuition already paid is non-refundable unless otherwise approved by the instructor.
