Zhiyu Xu
“A piano is not just an instrument; it is a mirror of the soul's discipline.”
Ms. Xu is a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she earned her Master's degree in music, and of Xinghai Conservatory of Music in Guangzhou, China, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in music. She has won numerous awards, including the International Piano Competition of Macau and the Concerto Competition of Xinghai Conservatory of Music.
Since beginning piano at the age of six, she has performed in numerous concerts as both a soloist and a collaborative artist. Ms. Xu has more than 10 years of teaching experience across private lessons and group classes at every level. She is a member of the Chinese Music Teachers Association of Northern California and specializes in helping students prepare for the Certificate of Merit (CM) Exams and the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Exams.
Ms. Xu enjoys sharing her patient and encouraging approach to teaching, maintaining strong standards for every lesson while nurturing a lifelong love of music.
